Abstract

Medication Adherence And Quality Of Life In Outpatient Hypertension Patients At A General Hospitals In Makassar City

The impact of poor life quality on medication adherence is significant particularly in patients with hypertension. Besides, there are few studies related to the relationship between medication adherence and quality of life in hypertensive patients in Makassar. Therefore, this research aims to determine the relationship between medication adherence and quality of life in hypertensive outpatients at a general hospital in Makassar City. This is a descriptive analytic research with a cross sectional approach. The data were collected prospectively between July-September 2020. Moreover, a totalof 102 patients participated in this study. The MMAS-8 and WHOQoL-BREF instruments were used to measure treatment adherence and quality of life, while bivariate and multivariate analysis were performed with the chi square test and multiple logistic regression respectively. The results showed that 75.5% (77) patients had high adherence to treatment. Out of this value, 75.3% (58) had good quality of life. Furthermore, treatment adherence (AOR = 5,342, CI95%: 1,408-20,265) was independently associated with quality of life. Therefore, based on the results, patients with high adherence tends to have a good quality of life.

Dampak dari kualitas hidup yang buruk pada kepatuhan pengobatan adalah peringatan khusus pada pasien dengan penyakit hipertensi. Penelitian terkait hubungan kepatuhan pengobatan dengan kualiatas hidup pada pasien hipertensi masih sedikit dilakukan di Makassar. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan hubungan antara kepatuhan pengobatan dengan kualitas hidup pada pasien hipertensi rawat jalan di Rumah Sakit X Kota Makassar. Penelitian ini adalah deskriptik analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Pengambilan data dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli-September 2020di Rumah Sakit X Kota Makassar. Pengambilan data dilakukan secara prospektif. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 102 pasien. Instrumen MMAS-8 dan WHOQoL-BREF dalam penelitian ini digunakan untuk mengukur kepatuhan pengobatan dan kualitas hidup. Analisis bivariat menggunakan uji chi square dan analisis multivariat dengan regresi logistik ganda. Hasil penelitian menemukan 75,5 % (77) pasien memiliki kepatuhan yang tinggiterhadap pengobatan. Dari nilai ini, 75,3% (58) pasien memiliki kualitas hidup yang baik. Kepatuhan pengobatan (AOR = 5,342,IK95% :1,408-20,265) secara bebas berhubungan dengan kualitas hidup. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan pasien dengan kepatuhan tinggi memiliki kualitas hidup yang baik.
