Dampak COVID-19 Pada Kunjungan Pasien di Klinik Gigi Swasta

Abstract


ABSTRAK

 

Pandemi COVID-19 sudah menjadi keadaan yang tidak terhindarkan dan berdampak pada berbagai lini kehidupan di seluruh dunia. Salah satu bidang yang terkena dapak pandemi ini adalah kedokteran gigi, karena rentannya transmisi virus SARS-CoV2 dari pasien kepada operator, maupun sebaliknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana dampak pandemi COVID-19 pada kunjungan pasien, diagnosis, maupun jenis terapi atau tindakan perawatan gigi di klinik gigi swasta di Kota Makassar, Sulawesi Selatan, Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif retrospektif dan mengambil sampel dengan teknik total sampling dari rekam medik pasien selama tahun 2019-2020. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penurunan rata-rata jumlah kunjungan pasien per bulan pada tahun 2020 sebesar 18, 34% jika dibandingkan pada tahun 2019. Namun pada diagnosis dan jenis perawatan yang diberikan hanya menunjukkan sedikit perbedaan, kecuali diagnosis gingivitis dan tindakan scaling yang terlihat mengalami penurunan. Oleh sebab itu dapat disimpulkan bahwa pada masa pandemi terjadi penurunan jumlah kunjungan pasien, prosentase pasien dengan diagnosis gingivitis, dan prosentase pasien yang  dilakukan tindakan scaling di salah satu klinik gigi swasta di kota Makassar.

ABSTRACT

 

The COVID-19 pandemic has become an unavoidable situation and has an impact on various lines of life around the world. One of the fields affected by this pandemic is dentistry, because of the vulnerability of the SARS-CoV2 virus transmission from patients to operators, and vice versa. This study aims to see how the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on patient visits, diagnosis, as well as types of therapy or dental care treatments at a private dental clinic in Makassar City, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. This study is a retrospective descriptive study and took samples using a total sampling technique from patient medical records during 2019-2020. The results showed a decrease in the average number of patient visits per month in 2020 by 18.34% when compared to 2019. However, the diagnosis and type of treatment provided only showed a slight difference, except for the diagnosis of gingivitis and scaling treatment which appeared to have decreased. Therefore, it can be said that during the pandemic there was a decrease in the number of patient visits, the percentage of patients with a diagnosis of gingivitis, and the percentage of patients who underwent scaling at a private dental clinic in Makassar city.
